Why I Choose Eufora Products

The hair care aisle is louder than ever, yet so many of us still end up thinking: why doesn’t anything work the way I want it to? I’m pulling back the curtain from 30 years behind the chair to explain why your hair might not be “the problem” at all and how the products you use can quietly create dryness, heaviness, irritation, and faster color fade.
I share the real backstory of how I first discovered Eufora when the brand was brand new, why that relationship came full circle years later, and why I made an intentional choice to build around one professional line.

Why Hair Products Fail
SpeakerIf you've ever stood in the hair care aisle or scrolled online and thought, why are there so many products? And why does nothing seem to work the way I want it to? Well, you are not alone, my friend. And here's the truth. After 30 years behind the chair, I have tried just about everything: professional lines, drugstore brands, luxury brands, trendy brands, all of it. And yet I made a very intentional decision to build my business around one line, Eufora. So today I want to walk you through why. And you're going to want to stick around to the end because I'm going to help you understand what actually makes a product worth using so you can stop wasting money on things that just don't work. Okay, welcome back to the podcast. I don't know about you guys, but spring is in the air, don't you think? Oh my gosh, we spent the last three days outside. My allergies, if you cannot tell, are just killing me, but that's okay because we laid over a hundred bags of mulch. Our yard looks great. And then we started remodeling our downstairs bathroom. So demo began yesterday. We took out a big old jacuzzi tub. We knocked down walls. Um, I've got to uh still do a lot more demo, but that is one thing I just love to do. I don't know if you guys know that about me, but I just love DIY. I do everything: the flooring, the tile, the drywall, the build walls, all that good stuff. I I just love it. Let me know if you would like to see before and afters or videos or um, I tried that at one point to do some DIY videos, but I don't know. I just it's a lot of work to do that. Uh I don't know how people do it on YouTube all the time where they film every single tiny step that they do. It's a lot. But if you guys would like to see at least some before and after shots, I'd love to share that with you. Okay, let's get back to what we're talking about today: Eufora. People ask me all the time, how did I decide on using Eufora? Let me tell you the backstory. When I had my very first salon in uh Carlsbad, California, that was 1995, I think it was. Yeah, I think. I started it as, I think if we started it as a Matrix salon. We carried Matrix products. I think then we also carried some Paul Mitchell products at the time. However, you know, they were they were okay. Um it wasn't completely sold on them, but it was all right. Um, and then one day this this um gentleman walked in the salon, very vivacious, very um, I don't know, very confident. And he walked into my little tiny salon in Carlsbad and said, Oh my gosh, look at this. This is beautiful. This spot is just anyway. He had me at hello, right? And who it was was Don Bewley. And if you don't know, Don Bewley was the founder of Eufora. This is right when Eufora started, brand new out of the shoot. They had, I think, eight or nine SKUs in their line. Now I think they have over 80. I don't know. I'm guessing on that, if not more, because they they have their whole color line too, right? He had uh, let's say nine, nine bottles, and they were little beige bottles. I remember this with teal print on them. And I think they had a like a leaf on there. And his motto at the time was we don't cure cancer, but we don't we don't make cancer either, or something like that. I can't remember exactly, but his whole thing was it didn't have anything bad in it. Okay, and I just I loved the whole idea of this. So of course I I started using Eufora, the nine products, and I remember at the time it didn't lather very much, and so we'd really have to to educate our guests on add water to it because it didn't lather. And I remember taking some classes from him on haircutting. Anyway, okay, 1995, right? So, and we really enjoyed the product, totally enjoyed the product. But then in let's see, I think it was 97. We, my husband and I made the decision to move to Arizona. I got pregnant, my son, my firstborn, he was born in 1998. Then we moved to Virginia. I opened a salon there. I opened a few salons there. But let's fast forward, okay? I did a few salons there. After my daughter was born, 2003, as soon as she started school, I wanted to open another salon, or at least I wanted to find a salon to work in, but I ended up opening one. And it was, I think, 2012, and we were a Davines salon. We were using Davines, and we had a new rep who came into the salon, introduced herself, and she wanted to, she was doing her job, she was telling me all the products that they represented, and she was saying Davines and this and that and this, and then she said Eufora. And I said, wait a minute. I thought Eufora was no more. I but I don't know. I I mean, I read all the magazines, I all the industrial trades and all that stuff. I just thought that they weren't around anymore. But they were, they were just getting to the East Coast because they started in California. And they were, you know, a small family business, which they still are, and they just took their time getting to the East Coast. Anyway, I was like, oh my God, Eufora, blah, blah, blah. They were just starting their color line. She invited me to the very first color class. I became a color educator. But before I get to that, she said, yes, we represent Eufora. And I told her the story that I was one of the very first salons in California to carry Eufora. And wouldn't you know, lo and behold, the very next day I answer the phone at the salon. And who is on the other end but Don Bewley? Yes, the founder of Eufora, the same man who walked into my salon how many years ago? Right? And he's like, Danise, oh my gosh, how are you? How are you doing? How's your husband? How's Chris? He knew everything about me. He remembered whether he remembered it or not or looked it up, I don't know. But that man, if you ask anybody who knew Don Bewley, he was exactly that type of person. He remembered everybody's birthdays, he remembered every significant date in everybody's life and called them personally. He was just that type of person. Anyway, we became a Eufora salon, short right then and there, okay? Because professional brands, you do not get a phone call from the founder of the professional brand. You do not get personalized hand holding as you're trying to build your salon. Uh that was the backstory of Eufora, and that's how I came to know Eufora. And then they've just gotten better and better, of course, with science and with um research and development and all the all the stuff. They still have those nine products, most of the nine products, still in their line. Sculpture, Illuminate, Elevate, um, uh, pure polish, um, a couple of the shampoos, I can't remember exactly, but yeah, and I have somewhere, um, I'm I'll try to put it in the YouTube video, the pictures of the bottles of when we when I first had it in my salon. I think I have a picture around here. So anyway, let's get back to why, why, besides that. I mean, because that's a huge why. But, you know, every day when people sit down in my chair when I do hair, I hear people say, My hair feels dry, my hair feels heavy, my hair just won't hold a style anymore, or my scalp's irritated, or my color fades so fast. And most of the time, it's not their hair. It's actually what they're using on their hair. Because the truth is, not all products are created equally. We know that, right? And marketing can make anything sound good. My goodness, on TV anymore? Man, I yeah, they do a good job. Most people don't know how to read between the lines. When they go to the drugstore and they're looking for a shampoo or something to use on their hair, they see words like hydrating, clean, professional. But those words aren't regulated. You could say anything on your packaging. So you end up choosing based on packaging who's got the best package, right? Or the price, because Lord knows there's some expensive things out there. Or you might even get a recommendation that's not actually a good fit for your hair. That happened to me not too long ago. And I went and spent almost $40 on this product, and it was awful on my hair. But the person who recommended it loved it. So everybody's hair is different. You just have to know how to work with it, right? But when you do choose products like this, just by their packaging or recommendation or the price, over time your hair starts feeling worse, not better. I don't know. People tell me that all the time. So let me tell you the at least five reasons why I think Eufora stands out and they stand apart from the rest of the products out there, okay? And this actually, and the number one one is that the aloe-based formulations, they used aloe instead of water. If you look on the back of their shampoo bottles, you will see aloe vera is the first ingredient. Most shampoos and conditioners, the very first ingredient is water. And that matters more than you think, okay? Aloe vera is naturally rich in vitamin A, vitamin C, and E. It's also rich in amino acids and enzymes that actually support the health of your scalp. And aloe vera actually has anti-inflammatory properties. So instead of just carrying ingredients, it's actually doing something to your hair and your scalp. It actually helps calm irritation, it adds lightweight hydration to your hair, and it supports a healthy scalp environment. And here's the key. And you know it, I say this all the time. Healthy hair starts at the scalp. So when the base ingredient is already beneficial, everything built on top of it performs better. Here's another reason why I like them so much, and it's where a lot of brands lose me is they use good products in their products. Okay. This happened to me one time, and I'm not going to say what brand it was, but we used a brand of color. And I got certified in that brand of color. I believed in this brand of color. It was it worked beautifully until it didn't. And then I asked questions. I was like, why isn't this covering gray anymore? Why is this pulling so warm all the time? Why are why are my clients complaining and I'm having to do all these redoes? I called the distributor. I called the company because I was certified in that. And so I had some connections. And they were like, oh no, nothing's changed. I don't know, nothing's changed. Well, come to find out, it had been bought by a big conglomerate. And the conglomerate, no, they didn't change the ingredients. They just started using cheaper ingredients. So instead of maybe using, I'm making this up, distilled water in their hair color. I don't even know if distilled water is in hair color, but say that. Distilled water, they just use water. You know, so they didn't have to change the ingredient list, but something changed. So yeah. And if you're a stylist and you see stuff like this happens and they don't have any explanation for it, it could be this that they're just taking shortcuts. Well, Eufora doesn't take shortcuts at all. And also Eufora avoids harsh sulfates, parabens, they don't have any heavy coating fillers that just mask the damage on your hair. And this is super important. Let's just talk about sulfates for just a second. I've given you podcasts and videos on why sulfates are so bad, but let's break it down again. They can strip the natural oils off your hair and your scalp. They can strip your hair color. It's almost like putting Don dish soap on your hair. Whoa, that's got a lot of sulfates. The sulfates are the bubble makers, right? It's soap. And sulfates also take the moisture off your scalp. So you end up with drier scalp. And this leads to this cycle that, you know, it dries out your hair, then you over-condition, and then you get heavy buildup, and then your hair gets flat, and then you wash it again, and blah, blah, blah, blah. Well, Eufora breaks that cycle. The shampoos, their formulas, they're balanced to cleanse without ever stripping your hair. And so your hair actually starts feeling better the more you use it. I've had people tell me that over and over again. And I could tell you, when I use products that that I'm testing, because I test some products so I can tell you about them, and they're some of them I've, you know, are really well. But when I go back to my tried and true Eufora bodifying shampoo and conditioner, night and day, it's just like my hair comes alive again. I don't know. I don't know. That's just that's just personal, personal review on that. So um, but that's when I think people get most skeptical because we've all been trained to believe if it's clean, it probably doesn't work well because Eufora's products are clean. If you are into what's in the product, you want to listen up. Eufora products are to design to perform in real salon environments. We're talking styling products that actually hold and they don't feel stiff, moisture products that hydrate without weighing your hair down, color care that helps maintain tone and vibrancy, actually more so than if you weren't using it. They actually have their um, if you mix their sculpture and illuminate and use it on your hair every single day, your hair color will last 33% longer than if you didn't use anything. It protects your hair, it shuts your cuticle down. It's wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. Because you guys, especially women over 40, your hair changes and it becomes drier, it becomes finer, and it becomes more fragile. And you can't afford to put products that sit heavy on your hair or dry it out. You need performance and flexibility, and you need to know why you're using it on your hair. Don't just pull something off a shelf and put it on your hair and think it's gonna be great. No, that's not how it works. Okay, here's something else that why I love Eufora, and it's because they focus on the scalp health. If you know me, my scalp suffers a lot because I have psoriasis on my scalp. And I know I've told you this before. If too much stress, if I if I eat too much sugar, if I go to bed with my hair wet, oh my gosh, my whole scalp's inflamed and ah, it goes all down my neck, around my ears. It's terrible. Um, but most of the time I have it under control. But this is one of the most overlooked areas in hair care. Um, people treat their scalp like it's an afterthought. And they usually only think about it if it's flaring up, right? But your scalp is skin. It's just like your facial skin. It's just like your face. If it's inflamed, if it's clogged, or if it's imbalanced, it's gonna see, you're gonna see it. It's gonna show up in your hair. So Eufora builds a lot of their systems around stimulating the scalp, supporting circulation, and creating an environment for healthier hair growth. They incorporate essential oils, not just for the scent, but for the function. Things like peppermint to stimulate your scalp, tea tree to purify your scalp, and lavender to calm. So it becomes this full experience. You're not just washing your hair, but you're actually supporting your hair. Now, this next thing is what matters the most to me, and it always has when I was building my salons, and it matters to me now. Eufora is professional driven, it will never be mass marketed. If you see Eufora products, like if you go online and you see them on Amazon or Walmart or anything like that, that is not Eufora. Now, it might be a salon selling illegally selling their Eufora products, or maybe there's a salon going out of business, or anyway, it's not regulated products. So if you find something on Amazon that's a Eufora product, I can guarantee you it's not from Eufora. It could be watered down, it could be a different product in the product. I've seen videos and I can try to put one on here where somebody orders something from Amazon and they compare it to theirs, they pour it out and it's a completely different color. If you're going to order something from Eufora, it has to be from a Eufora salon or Eufora itself, because it is a professional brand and it is never nor will they sell to a conglomerate. It's designed for stylists to use behind the chair. It's supported by education and training, which is out of this world, and it is meant to be used with intention. They do not want anybody using their products who don't know how to use their products because they have something for everyone. But I guarantee you, if you're using the wrong product out of their selection, you might not be happy with it and it might not be supporting what you need, and you're not going to like it then. So you need somebody who knows the product, can educate you on how to use the product, and it's actually going to give your hair what it actually needs. And then using the right combination of products to get you there, I'll tell you, when you do that, everything changes. And people have told me that time and time again. My hair has never felt better than when I have started using the products that you recommended. I'm not trying to sell you on this, but I am trying to tell you why I believe so highly in the Eufora products. Because your hair will become more predictable if you use them, more manageable, and you will feel like you again. I know. So here's what happens when you start using products like this consistently. Your hair doesn't just look better for a day. Because we've all used products like that before. It just starts behaving differently. You use less product, you style it faster and you fight it less. And that's what we really all want, right? Hair that works with us, not against us. So if you're feeling overwhelmed with products right now, here's where I want you to start. Keep it simple. Start with a shampoo and a conditioner that actually supports your hair type. If you need suggestions on this, you know, just message me, I will help you out. Um, you also want to just start with one styling product that solves your biggest frustration. Don't just start piling a lot of stuff on your hair because you won't know what's working. And then you need to give it time, give it a couple of weeks. Consistency is where the magic happens. And if you're not sure where to start, that's why I created my personalized hair blueprint. It walks you through exactly what your hair needs, the products that make sense for you and how to actually use them. This is where go on my website, goodhairenergy.com, you take a questionnaire, click on the blueprint, you will answer a bunch of questions, you'll send me pictures of your hair, front, back, sideways, all that good stuff, right? And tell me what you're using on your pro on your hair, and I'll come back with a personalized plan just for you. It's gonna include some photos, it's gonna include some product listing. It's going to include a how-to daily, weekly, uh, maybe even some um styling options that you could do. And if you want to take it one step further, you can add a private video walkthrough where I'm gonna talk you through your blueprint. So you'll have me walking you through step by step. And you can find that link. It'll be in the show notes below, or you could just go over to um goodhaienergy.com, it'll be right there. So if this episode has helped you see your hair a little bit differently, make sure you subscribe so you don't miss what's coming next. Make sure you um share it with a buddy. Maybe they're having some hair problems too. Uh, I would just love to build this community. And again, if you're watching this on YouTube, make sure you hit the follow button, subscribe button. I'm trying to get to 10,000 by the end of uh summer. So help me out doing that. I would really appreciate it. And always remember when you know better, you do better.
