Well, hey there, and welcome to Straight from the Stylist Chair. This is a special QA series here on All About Hair. I'm your host, Denise Keilitz, and I'm here to answer the real questions clients ask in the salon so you can feel confident and love every visit. Welcome back to Straight from the Stylist Chair. This is the mini-series where I answer the questions clients ask their stylists every day. Okay, the question today is is shedding normal or am I losing too much hair? Hmm, I get it. Seeing hair in the shower can feel scary. But how do you know if it's normal or not? Most people don't know the difference between healthy shedding and true hair loss, and panic can set in really fast. There's no easy visual test, and stressing about it can only make shedding worse. And it's a vicious cycle then. So here's the baseline. Losing 50 to 100 hairs per day is normal. But if you're seeing a sudden like clumps or bald spots or a widening part, then it's time to see a professional. Catching issues early, especially after things like pregnancy, illness, or major stress can make a huge difference. Knowing what's normal can save you from worry. And if there is a real issue, you'll get help before it's advanced. Hey, thanks for hanging out with me today. I hope today's chat helps you walk into your next appointment feeling totally confident. For more tips and stories, keep listening to the full All About Hair podcast and grab the free resource in the show notes. Until next time, I'll save you a seat in the chair.
